The elderly population in Strängnäs municipality is struggling with loneliness and that is associated with mental health challenges. To address this issue, me and my team of three people have recognized the need of help and we started analysing our audience, interviewing the elderly and started working on a potential solution.
Me and a group of my classmates developed a prototype app and a printed calendar to address this problem of loneliness and mental health issues among the elderly in Strängnäs. The app was designed with simplicity and ease of use in mind, with features such as social event listings, course schedules, and trip information to help the elderly engage in activities aligned with their passions and hobbies, thereby changing their everyday lives.
The printed calendar prototype is for the part of our target audience that would prefer to have that over an application. The printed calendar of course doesn‘t have some of the features the app has, but it still contains all of the events based on one‘s interests.
